INFLUÊNCIA DA INTERNACIONALIZAÇÃO NO DESEMPENHO FINANCEIRO DAS EMPRESAS BRASILEIRAS E EUROPEIAS

Resumo

Objetivo: analisar a influência da internacionalização no desempenho financeiro das empresas brasileiras e europeias.

Método/abordagem: Foram empregadas técnicas como estatística descritiva, testes de diferença entre médias e regressão linear múltipla, no tratamento dos dados de 2016 a 2020.

Principais Resultados: Os resultados sinalizaram que há diferenças estatisticamente significantes entre as empresas brasileiras e europeias em relação a sua internacionalização e desempenho financeiro. Os resultados revelaram que a internacionalização afeta negativamente o desempenho financeiro nas empresas brasileiras, ao passo que nas empresas europeias a relação entre os construtos mostrou-se positiva.

Contribuições teóricas/práticas/sociais: a pesquisa contribui ao analisar, comparativamente, a internacionalização e o desempenho financeiro em empresas situadas em cenários econômicos e institucional divergentes fornecendo novas evidências da relação entre os construtos. Ademais, gerencialmente, evidencia aos gestores que os fatores institucionais facilitam ou dificultam o processo de internacionalização que depende de alguns fatores, dentre eles, o país de origem da empresa.

Originalidade/relevância: o estudo se diferencia de pesquisas prévias ao abordar um estudo comparativo entre empresas brasileiras e europeias no que tange ao efeito da internacionalização no desempenho financeiro das empresas.
