REFLEXOS DAS PRÁTICAS ESG E DA ADESÃO AOS ODS NA REPUTAÇÃO CORPORATIVA E NO VALOR DE MERCADO

Resumo

Objetivo: Analisar a influência das práticas ambientais, sociais e de governança (ESG) e o engajamento com os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) na reputação corporativa e no valor de mercado das companhias abertas listadas na [B]³.

Método/abordagem: Pesquisa descritiva e de abordagem quantitativa, com dados coletados da Economática®, CSRHub, relatórios de sustentabilidade, ranking Merco e [B]³. O período de análise corresponde aos anos de 2016 a 2022 e a amostra pesquisada foi constituída de 1.120 observações.

Principais resultados: Os resultados indicaram que a adoção dos ODS ajuda na melhoria da reputação corporativa. O desempenho em ESG mostrou-se fator preponderante para melhorar a reputação corporativa e o market-to-book. As empresas com presença concomitante de adoção dos ODS e alto desempenho em ESG demonstraram possuir maior reputação corporativa e market-to-book.

Contribuições teóricas/práticas/sociais: A divulgação de informações ambientais, sociais e de governança, alinhadas com o compromisso corporativo de desenvolvimento sustentável, torna claro o posicionamento empresarial e suas interações com as partes interessadas, repercutindo na valorização da marca e no seu valor de mercado.

Originalidade/relevância: O comportamento corporativo responsável aponta para a melhoria da reputação corporativa e a valorização da empresa no mercado acionário.
