Abstract

In this article we propose an analysis of marketing education and its most important requirements. To accomplish this effort we will discuss over the formation of this professional and the several academic arguments about it. Themes such as the characterization of marketing discipline as science or art, the effort to build a general theory of marketing and its classification into several schools of thought will be discussed. We believe it’s important to promote this kind of debate among the academy to improve marketing education and the critical ability of its students.
