Abstract

This article presents the fundraising initiatives and investment funds of impact businesses. The connection of impact businesses with other actors in the ecosystem is promising for the scalability of the impact generated. This article aims to point out the types of investments and funds commonly used in the impact sector. Regardless of how the impact investor operates, it is essential to use some financial instruments so that the invested resources are destined for the business. The method used is bibliometric research, to investigate the scientific production on impact investments during the years 2014 to 2023. The results indicate a scarcity of national production on this subject and that the financial instruments in the impact sector can vary mainly between equity and debt. However, despite the differences, impact investors expect a positive socio-environmental impact and financial return. Impact investors are motivated to invest in businesses that offer potential to scalability. The research results reinforce the need for invested businesses to be able to manage and monitor their impact, performance, and financial indicators.
