Abstract

Under the title The Work of Engineer Eladio Dieste: Church of Atlântida, Dieste's construction technique, connected to his way of thinking and acting in the world, was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2021. Oral interviews with persons associated with his work provide indications of this heritage’s contributions toward reflection on principles for heritage education concerned with human formation, as well as with the protection and maintenance of both human and non-human life on the planet, in a sustainable way and with social equity. This material is part of an doctoral research project that investigates UNESCO's educational proposals for world heritage and seeks through bibliographic, documentary, and oral-history methodological approaches, to reflect on principles for heritage education aimed at world heritage preservation.
