This article aims to present the ancestral stories and living memories of the Kaingang and Guarani people, based on the narratives of the “mythological” brothers: Kamē and Kanhru (Kaingang) and Kuaray/Sun and Djatchy/Moon (Guarani), which go beyond conceptual meanings and also speak of indigenous feminine cosmology. The stories of Kuaray, Djatchy, Kamé and Kanhru bring the elements and representation of the Sun and Moon and contain teachings that permeate the construction of the indigenous being, including the sacred feminine. The aim is also to demystify the term myth and mythology in order to understand the meaning and importance of these stories for indigenous peoples, which they share and pass on to others in the construction of subjectivity and identity. These are stories that come from the ancestral past, but which bring cultural teachings to the present day.
